There’s a leader in all of us

“Life moments become leadership moments when we begin to see leadership as the discipline of bringing out the best in ourselves and others in all situations.”

Many people take their personal life to be distinct from their work. But what if you were to recognize that in every moment of your life there is a positive purpose to be pursued – whether it is to have a beautiful dinner conversation with a friend, take a soul-stirring walk by yourself in nature, or guide an errant child. And what if, in every moment, in pursuit of this purpose, you were to seek to bring out the best in yourself and the best in others? You would then be not just living, but leading.

Life is inviting us to lead in all situations.

I invite you to make leadership a daily discipline. Look for ways to activate the best in yourself and others. The moments of life are finite and fleeting, but they are laden with possibilities.

Warmly,
Hitendra

PS: What I’ve shared above is an example of a principle. A principle is something that can guide our direction in life and that stands true in essentially all situations. It helps us simplify the game of life, so we don’t feel overwhelmed, muddled or conflicted about what’s right and what’s wrong. It is our way of codifying a law of human nature.

In addition to principles, you can expect in this Intersections newsletter practices, ponderings and perspectives. We’ll get to these as we go along in our journey.
