Some time back, I had a delightful interaction with Srinivas Rao on his The Unmistakable Creative podcast, where I discussed how ancient Indian wisdom can have a positive impact on the modern world.
Today, I want to share a one-minute excerpt from that podcast with you — what India has taught me about one’s soul’s journey through karma and reincarnation.
Whether you believe in the soul, karma and reincarnation, or not, what do you think about the idea of approaching life as a school, with every life experience being a teaching moment? When viewed in this way, life is giving us countless opportunities, day upon day, year upon year, to grow and direct our desires and strivings so we can ultimately get to the place where our highest potential resides, our Inner Core. At that point, I have no doubt we’ll find our consciousness harmonized with life, nature, and the universe. And perhaps, just perhaps, we will at that point transcend our mortal frame to merge with the all-loving, joyful Spirit that pervades every corner of Creation. That’s the most beautiful, awe-inspiring, romantic vision India has gifted me.
Warmly,
Hitendra
PS; I take a more scientific, storytelling path in the last chapter (“Transcendence’) of my book Inner Mastery, Outer Impact to explore the idea of transcendence based on studies of near-death experiences, introspections by creative geniuses like Brahms and Puccini, and the lived experiences of Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King, Jr. I end the chapter with one of the most transformational experiences I went through in my life. I encourage you to share this newsletter with others you know who may be interested in subjects like this — ancient wisdom, and the idea of transcendence.
